Back in March 2021, after an explosive reunion fight between the co-parents, Maci got Ryan and his family fired from the MTV reality show.

Ryan's father Larry exclusively told The Sun: “We, the family have been let go from the show by the network. It's unbelievable.”

While he did not reveal why the family was let go, he admitted Maci was mad at him for claiming they had not seen their grandson Bentley in a month.

“The Edwards were informed that Maci’s reps wanted to go a different direction and showcase all of her abilities. Maci went to production and explained she wanted her story to cover all the parts of her life and no longer focus on Ryan and his family," a source told The Ashley's Reality Roundup.

Ryan's estranged wife, Mackenzie Edwards, also discussed the firing, revealing that Ryan was "ready to move on from the MTV franchise," according to E! News.

"He was just like, 'Don't. We're gonna move on. We're gonna live our lives. We're gonna do our jobs and, you know, have a normal life. Like don't waste your time or your breath coming back,'" Mackenzie revealed.

Since Ryan left the Teen Mom franchise, he has battled drug addiction and even found himself in trouble with the law multiple times.

He was arrested for violating a restraining order on April 7, 2023, in Tennessee.

The arrest came just weeks after he pleaded guilty to harassing his estranged wife and was ordered to check into rehab.

On April 20, Ryan received a prison sentence of 11 months and 29 days.

The U.S. Sun reported: "He was called up and spoke to the judge regarding the two new possession of a controlled substance and DUI charges, as well as the previous two harassment and possession of controlled substance charges."

On July 14, 2023, Judge Gary Starnes ruled that Ryan would be released from prison and sent to rehab.

Since then, he has beenin and out of court.

On November 8, he wasfound guilty of speeding and reckless drivingafter he wascaught going 145 mph in a 65 mph zonethe month prior.

Two days before, Ryan pleaded guilty to a DUI in a separate case.

On December 5, he was arrested in court during a check-in hearing. Judge Gary Starnes admitted he had lost his patience with the star for not following the terms of his probation.

Ryan returned to court on Friday, December 8, 2023, to learn he had passed a drug test but would be serving over a month behind bars due to breaking the terms of his probation.

In February 2024, Mackenzie's original divorce request was dismissed after no updated filings were made in 270 days.

Ryan filed for divorce just two weeks after the dismissal, seeking joint custody and child support from Mackenzie.

At the time, he was already living with his new girlfriend, Amanda Connor, who he met in rehab last summer.

The duo were last seen celebrating the Easter holiday together with Ryan's ex, Maci Bookout, her new husband, Taylor McKinney, and their teenage son, Bentley.

At the time, she was also granted a restraining order and temporary custody of their two children, according to Us Weekly.
