Ladies, it’s that time of year when we gather to celebrate nothing other than being female. For some, it’s about being single, for others, it’s about celebrating your girls. No matter what, Galentine’s Day is our favorite fake holiday of the year.
This year, Galentine’s is on a Sunday ~ it is officially celebrated every February 13 according to its founder Leslie Knope. But we’re not set on always following the rules. Pick a day in the week or make it a weekend-long celebration with the gals. It’s all made up anyway, just an excuse to show your love for your best girl friends.

Here’s what’s on our radar for Galentine’s Day weekend:
Celebrating on Saturday, February 12
NoDaHood Valentine’s Market
Divine Barrel Brewing and neighboring businesses
12 p.m to 5 p.m. – FREE
What better way to spend Galentine’s Day other than shopping local? NoDaHood’s first market of 2022 is going down just in time to take the girls and make an afternoon of it. Shop over 50 local artisans in an open air market, enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, jam out to live DJ’s, and more.
Free portraits and roses at Rail Trail mural for Valentine’s Day
Design Center of the Carolinas in South End
12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – FREE
Gather the girls for free portraits in front of the Instagram-famous Confetti Hearts Mural from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Be one of the first 100 people there to pick up a rose to keep for yourself or to give to your galentine.
Carolina Alpaca Celebration and Carolina Alpaca Parade Shows
Cabarrus Arena and Events Center
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – FREE
The biggest alpaca event in the southeast is coming to Concord on Saturday, February 12th, and Sunday, February 13th, 2022, just in time for Galentine’s. Watch alpaca’s compete while you can learn more about the animal and shop vendors selling alpaca and fiber-related items.
FREE Valentine’s Photo Shoot & $150 Date Night Giveaway
Gorgeous Photo Studio on East Blvd. – 1419 East Blvd. Suite K
12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Free
Get dolled up with your girlfriends and head down for a FREE photoshoot that helps support a great cause. A professional photographer will take your portraits in a beautiful studio as you enjoy drinks, snacks, and music. While capturing memories with your best pals, you also have the chance to win $150 gift card to a Charlotte restaurant favorite — Mariposa. Hoppy Valentine’s at Sycamore

An afternoon filled with things you need to celebrate the ultimate Galentine’s Day. Start with oysters from North Carolina (they are an aphrodisiac after all), custom Sycamore cards and candy for your Valentine’s or Galentine’s, chuck axes while picturing your ex, live music from Falcon Heart and Droze, food trucks, and a vintage market with over 40 local vendors. We’ll see you there, girls!
Bar crawl in your favorite onesie

Grab the girls and take part on the comfiest bar crawl in town, where onesies are a requirement. The 5th annual Onesie Bar Crawl makes for a great way to try new bars while being comfy and cozy with the gals. Tickets include coverage to a number of bars in Uptown, along with two complimentary drinks and drink specials at each bar. Cheers!

Head to the Mint Museum Uptown for half-price admission

Shop with a purpose at Camp North End’s Passport Challenge

Grab the girls and head to Camp North End for a day of shopping, art, and food. Throughout the month of February, Camp North End will host aValentine’s themed Camp Passport challenge where you can pick up a passport from any of the 16 participating businesses and if you purchase an item from eight vendors throughout the month, you will recieve limited-edition Camp North End swag. Make it a challenge between the group with who can get their passport completed first — we girls are always up for a challenge, especially when it involves shopping.

Celebrate Galentine’s Day at Rosie’s Wine Garden

Celebrate friends at Rosie’s Wine Garden where there will be live music, a mimosa bar, possible beermosa, pizza from Pinecone Flatworks. Invite all your friends and spend the afternoon in the garden. Festivities take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
